Manchester based artist Sian Elizabeth Doherty is “Doing something funny for money”, and it's all on show at Novus Contemporary Art in West Didsbury.

Manchester artist, Sian Elizabeth Doherty, has specially created a fantastic painting of a ‘Sundae’ using seven pairs of fancy knickers worn by The Sun's Page Three girls. The girls who have kindly donated their knickers are Rosie, Nikkala, Keeley, Poppy, Claire, Peta and Katie Leigh.

Due to the response to her “Knickerbokaglory” painting in a recent “Beautiful Trash” exhibition, Sian decided to run with the idea for charity. She is now on the case to “nick the knickers” from celebrities in order to recreate the lingerie based painting – a “Knickerbokaglory of Fame”! The canvas, deliciously collaged with 7 pairs of knickers worn by The Sun’s page 3 girls, along with her “Knickerbokaglory of Fame”, will be donated to Comic Relief.

Already inundated with famous underwear, from stars like Ricky Hatton, Craig Revel Horwood and the floor of Coronation Street’s “Underworld”, Sian has also been asked to paint an “Ice Cream Sundae”.

Glad to get involved, the paintings can be viewed at Novus Contemporary Art, before being handed over to Comic Relief in Fredericks Ice Cream Parlour at the Chill Factore. The paintings will then be put on an online auction in support of Comic Relief at marketplace09.com. Get bidding now! All money rasied from this event will be donated in support of Comic Relief registered charity 326568 (England/Wales) SCO39730 (Scotland).
