Casa Karija

Casa Karija is a spacious self contained apartment within a friendly family run villa, situated about 2km from the bustling resort of Calpe, north of Alicante.

The accommodation comprises an open plan lounge with a bed settee (making a small double bed with a privacy curtain) and pool table. The open plan kitchen is equipped with all that is needed for self catering, including fridge freezer, gas hob & oven and microwave, as well as a full range of crockery, cutlery, pans etc. The master bedroom has a double bed and built in double wardrobe, with ample storage space as well as a large set of drawers. Bedroom 2 has 2 single beds and a large wardrobe with storage space. Box room has single bed or cot and cabinet and would ideally suit a child or small adult.

The bathroom is large and includes a bath with overhead shower, sink & toilet, as well as a washing machine.

The apartment benefits from a large private porch with a view of your pool, mature palms and Ifach (Calpe rock). For your own use there is the 9mt x 4.5mt pool, an outdoor kitchen area with a gas bbq, fridge, table, and chairs. There is also a cross trainer exercise machine.

Casa Karija is situated on a wide road with very little traffic and is therefore usually very quiet. The property is accessed via electric gates and there is ample parking space for hire cars, bikes and scooters.

Calpe Area

Calpe is a beautiful town, and is easily recognised by the 330 mtr rock that stands between the two beaches. The rock (Ifach) can be walked up by the fit enthusiast, and offers a spectacular view of the town. Just a 35 minute drive from Calpe you can visit Guadalest. This stunning old village with its many cave houses, has been made into museums and been voted one of the best places to visit in Spain.

There are two large blue flag sandy beaches with all the amenities that you expect from the best holiday resorts, with a diving centre near to Calpe. There are day trips to Benidorn and Denia by boat from Calpe, and excursions can be arranged on a glass bottom boat, as well as fishing trip boats from Calpe port.

Festivals are a major event for the people of Calpe and visitors from far and wide. Some of the major annual festivals include The Three Kings [5 January], Hogueras de San Juan [24 June] Celebration to honour the patron saint of "la Virgen del Carmen" [26 July], and the festival to honour "la Virgen de las Nieves" [5 August]

The Empedrola urbanization is towards the Benissa side of Calpe and features wide streets and a range of properties, from the traditionally Spanish to very modern architectural villas. Most of Calpe has sea and mountain views with the Olta and Bernia ranges visible, as well as the ever present rock - Ifach.

Getting to Casa Karija

Flying in Alicante airport to the south, the property is approximately a 1 hour drive. Ryanair, Thomson, Flybe, Easyjet, Bmibaby all fly into Alicante from various UK airports. Valencia airport is a little further north, but still as accessible.

Car hire is available at both airports and this is very much recommended - the property is in a beautiful, but quiet location, and so to explore the areas around, a car is a necessity. The drive from Alicante airport to Calpe is now very easy using the new high quality and safe motorway the AP7 [toll road], although the N332 does allow you take in a bit more of the scenery!

Rental Rates

Rentals begin from £261 per week in low season rising to £416 in peak season - however, please note that prices must be confirmed with the owners.

Payment can be made in Euros, by Paypal, credit card, debit card or by wire.

Charges for the apartment are based on up to 6 people and child or small adult in box room. Additional guests may be a possibility, charges to be agreed by email (modest cost). Price includes electric, water and gas. Occasional local lifts out to the beach or town if required (details to be advised).

A deposit of 100 euros per week is required when booking, balance to be paid 4 weeks prior to arrival.
