Blossom Flowers
Simply Blooming at Blossom
SEASONAL ENGLISH FLOWER SPECIALISTS
From its beginnings in January 2006, Blossom has developed into a thriving business, attracting a variety of customers through its doors. Whether it be a wedding, funeral, anniversary or simply a kind thought, Blossom can provide a variety of arrangements and bouquets to suit every occasion, priding itself on its regular range of seasonal English flowers which can often be a rare commodity in many modern florist shops. In addition to the seasonal flowers, Blossom also takes care to stock Dutch grown flowers and the popular classics such as roses and gerberas, ensuring that whatever their customers want they can have, as well as introducing them to flowers that they may have never considered in the past.
“We really do offer a personal service and will tailor anything to suit our customer’s specific needs,” explains Becky, exemplifying why there are so many regular Blossom customers who keep coming back. In fact some of the customers are now considered friends, with Blossom playing a small part in their various family celebrations, such as the arrival of a new baby, a first birthday or a new home. In turn this has allowed Blossom to get to know their customers likes and dislikes, something which they bear in mind when they go to New Smithfield market in Ashton-under-Lyne two or three times each week to buy stock, further adding to their personal service.
PAULA PRYKE
The high quality of the flowers and services available at Blossom mirrors the high quality of experience behind the business. Both Becky and her business partner Rachel Mashiter are originally from horticultural and floristry backgrounds. Becky had studied and worked as a landscape architect and, for a number of years, Rachel worked as a florist in Bermuda. They met whilst working and training under the renowned London-based florist Paula Pryke. It was whilst further developing their floristry skills under the expert tuition of Paula that Becky and Rachel discovered they shared the same passion for flowers and a desire to set up an individual business. With Becky originally hailing from London and Rachel from the Lake District, they settled on the up and coming area of Chorlton as the location for Blossom.
This is a decision that they have never regretted with Blossom getting busier as each week goes by. As well as the regular services, they also offer a personal delivery service as well as wedding flowers and flowers for other events and funerals. The wedding price list is accompanied by a CD of photographs of possible bouquets and arrangements. Further to all this Blossom offers workshops in Christmas wreath making during December and more workshops are planned in the future.
FLORISTRY WITH A CONSCIENCE
Blossom is also a very environmentally conscious business and, in addition to the Fair Trade jewellery, they give their customers unique recycled newspaper bags and office paper bags. This not only helps the environment but makes buying anything at Blossom that little bit more interesting - it's so much more interesting taking home your purchase in something a little bit more unusual than a standard plastic bag!
With English flowers available all year round, plants starting at a mere £2, delivered bouquets starting at £25 and no minimum spend on a shop-bought bouquets, there really are too many reasons not to take a trip to Blossom to treat a loved one - or even yourself!
