Ben Nixon, the brains behind Didsbury Window Cleaning Services, is still only in his early twenties but has already been in the business for a number of years. From stints cleaning windows with his neighbour, Ben has now succeeded in establishing a thriving business, which has in excess of 2,000 clients.

The success of this Didsbury based venture obviously owes an extensive debt to Ben’s unique vision; he saw window cleaning as a career rather than a part-time job and as a result, felt it was time to bring the occupation up to date. However, his decision to modernise the window cleaning business did not strip it of its traditional values and he still emphasises the importance of establishing close relationships with his customers.

Indeed, Ben claims to think of his company as the fourth emergency service and admits that customer satisfaction is his top priority. He confesses his favourite part of the job is receiving positive feedback from ecstatic customers and admits, “If they’re happy, I’m happy.” Whilst Ben employs a number of staff, he is still keen to be seen as the face of the business. Of course, this obviously means he has to work some incredibly long hours but it is clear that Ben’s dedication is now allowing him to reap the rewards.

Despite his accomplishments so far, it seems that Ben is constantly thinking about his next project. He is a budding entrepreneur and, following the success of his Didsbury window cleaning business, he plans to establish more businesses out of his hobbies. These include a marketing project that will allow him to share his skills with local businesses and a lucrative sideline in DJing and club promotion. The latter has already included collaborations with some huge names in the Manchester Drum ‘n’ Bass scene, but it seems Ben’s feet remain firmly on the ground. Whatever happens, he vows never to leave window cleaning behind and happily exclaims, “I love my job!”
