Get The Balance Back In Your Life
Thea Euryphaessa recently visited Tarryn Van Oppell at Spirit in West Didsbury - and experienced the Asyra Pro, a bio-feedback machine which is causing a bit of a stir. Read Thea's thoughts here...
"I’ve been feeling rather ropey, of late. My insides have felt like the frayed edge of a dusty old rug. My diet’s veered from not-too-bad to bobbins. I have an unhealthy penchant for red wine, chocolate, more chocolate and sugar. Ah, sugar – opium of the masses. Love the stuff – can’t get enough of it.
So this year I made it a goal to steadily introduce several healthy new lifestyle habits. I’ve been regularly taking vitamin supplements, starting the day with a cup of hot water with a couple of slices of unwaxed, organic lemon. But that’s all been undone by the red wine I’ve been indulging in at the end of the day and a marked increase in chocolate consumption. Not good.
It’s been on my perennial To Do list, to visit my local acupuncturist, see a nutritionist, and check out a homoeopathist a trusted friend had recommended. I know there are a lot of people who don’t buy into the complementary health scene. In some ways, I can’t blame them. Unfortunately there are one-too-many charlatans out there selling snake oil and what not. And despite being a Reiki teacher myself, I maintain a cynical eye and a keen nose for bunkum.
So when my good friends down at Didsbury Life, told me a nutritionist coach called Tarryn von Oppell, had rolled into town with a fandangle bio-feedback machine called the Asyra Pro – described as the most advanced of its kind in the world – my curiosity was piqued. You can visit the website (nutrima.co.uk), read more about her, what she does, and watch a short video about it all. In fact, I recommend you do.
I intuitively knew my body was out of balance. I think most of us usually do – whether we decide to do something about it or not is another matter. What Tarryn’s ingenious little machine does is, while holding a brass rod in each hand, reads the body and pinpoints areas that are out of alignment – and all in under five minutes. Among other areas, it can screen for the following:
Complete nutritional assessment of vitamins, trace minerals, essential fatty acids, proteins etc.
Food intolerances against over 300 foods
Sensitivities and allergies
Heavy metals
Toxins
Inflammation
Hormone screening
Vertebral profile
Emotional stressors
Homotoxicology evaluation
Digestive system assessment
Parasites and infections
Menstrual and menopausal problems
Neurotransmitter disturbance
What really intrigued me was how uncannily accurate this little device was at picking up on health and dietary issues I’ve been struggling with – and all without asking a single question. I’m not kidding – every doctor’s surgery should have one of these as standard. They’d save copious amounts of time and money. What’s more, this is the only machine of its kind in the north-west. So to have one located in Spirit, in the heart of West Didsbury, is good news for all concerned. And it’s not just that, but the sheer convenience of it. Tarryn and her machine addressed several niggling issues in one fell swoop, saving me time and money in the long-run. I didn’t have to wait for the results either – got them all on the spot, together with a print-out of foods to avoid, recommended supplements and a personalised remedy to take home.
A one hour session with Tarryn costs £95. The good news for the people of Didsbury and beyond, however, is that she’s offering a 20% discount until the end of April. I’ve been around many alternative and complementary therapies, but can confidently recommend this as an ideal way to kick-start a thorough, inner spring clean."
