A Little Bit About Thai-E Sarn, West Didsbury...

The Thai-E Sarn is a well established institution on Burton Road, West Didsbury. Famed for its owner, Wendy Beddard - or, as she is affectionately known, "Crazy Wendy" - the restaurant walls are adorned with memorabilia, including shots of celebrities who have dined and been entertained here.

Each evening, Wendy transforms herself into a diva, setting the restaurant alight with her energy and enthusiasm. To the sounds of Shirley Bassey, Tom Jones and Elvis Presley, Crazy Wendy entertains her diners - who usually can't resist joining in. Nowhere else in Manchester can you have such a unique dining experience!

The Legend that is Crazy Wendy...

Crazy Wendy loves nothing better than entertaining her diners with her renditions of Elvis Presley's hits. Nightly, she serves up a feast of musical treats from her Memphis idol.

"I love Elvis and I want to sing like him to make my guests happy and show love to them," she said from her famous restaurant on Burton Road. "If they ask me, or if there is a party, I come out and I sing my favourites for them. Then they can sing for me!"

"I dress as Shirley Bassey, not Elvis because I tried being Elvis once but I think I looked funny. It is the songs that are important - the emotion. That's I want to recreate."

Wendy's favourite number is "Are you Lonesome Tonight" which, she says, reminds her of how her heart was once broken. The Thai-E Sarn - it's loud, it's karaoke, it's great fun and it's thoroughly recommended by critics and regulars.
