Bishop Bilsborrow RC Primary is a Voluntary Aided Roman Catholic Primary School in the Diocese of Salford and Manchester Local Education Authority.

We have been rated as a "Good" school by OFSTED. Our Foundation Stage has a "rich learning environment...which gives children an exciting and stimulating start to school life."

Children's achievement is "good...because of the good quality of the curriculum and good teaching."

The aims of our school are set out below:

Worship

The school is based on the example and teaching of Jesus Christ. The school aims to develop the child’s knowledge and understanding of their relationship with God through experience of prayer and the liturgy and to create opportunities or shared worship in Assemblies and class and school masses.

Communication

The school belongs to a worshipping community where the ethos and values should be rooted in Love of God and Love of Mankind. Therefore all people are valued and treated as individuals and all people are respected and care for one another and all people are expected to combat racism, sexism and other negative stereotypes.

Relationships

Relationships within the school community of children, parents, parish and teachers should be based on mutual respect and shared responsibility for the development of whole child, with the aim of preparing the children for responsible citizenship and the ultimate reward.

Discipline

The emphasis is on positive discipline, which grows out of self esteem, personal responsibility and respect for others. Quiet, orderly behaviour is expected in school so that there is a positive climate for effective teaching and learning. The school has a positive code of behaviour, which forms part of the Home School agreement. The school also has a lunchtime code of behaviour.

Environment

The school buildings should be clean and comfortable and reflect the care and respect of the children. Work displayed should be a worthy reflection of the shared endeavours of children and teachers.

Curriculum

The school offers a broad and balanced curriculum, which takes into account the differing levels of ability with the expectation of the highest levels of attainment and achievement for all.

Please see our school website for more detailed information.
