Inspirit is a fresh and exciting new South Manchester based interiors company providing a range of services including innovative design solutions, a quality decorating service, unique homewares, property advice... to name but a few!

The company is run by Carla Muncaster, an Honours Design Graduate with over twelve years experience gained working within the head offices of some of this country's foremost Interiors companies such as The Conran Shop, Conran Collection, Designer’s Guild and House of Fraser.

Since leaving the world of corporate retail behind a few years ago, Carla embarked on a career in property development and re-designed, staged and renovated many properties to achieve incredible results - both aesthetically and financially. She re-designs people's properties to the best of their potential - aesthetically, practically and commercially. Her in-depth understanding of the housing market, architecture, design, colour, homewares, lighting and space, combined with an ability to understand her clients' core desires and needs, means she is best placed to re-design, decorate, renovate or style a home. Carla is an expert at preparing properties for sale and she guarantees whatever cost is incurred in the process it will be reaped back in multitude as everything she does is carefully considered and commercially astute.

Having the wealth of retail knowledge behind her, Carla could be described as a 'shop doctor' as she really sees the big picture and can simply work out where a retail enterprise might be under-performing.

Carla is passionate about the environment and community. She prides herself on an in-depth knowledge of “eco-design” and passionately believes that stylish design-led interiors can be created using environmentally friendly products and processes. Inspirit manages waste very effectively – they donate as much as possible to charities and freecycle and re-cycles anything else they can. Inspirit creates interiors with longevity which work and grow with their clients, as this is key to reducing waste and minimising consumerism.

Carla also has a great eye for seeing new potential in tired furnishings and can suggest exciting ways to re-vamp a multitude of sins. This is also a great way of achieving individuality and keeping costs down.

Indeed Carla restores furniture in her little workshop whenever she's not designing or decorating. Inspirit means to revitalise, breathe new life into and fill with vigour - and there is an ever changing fabulous collection of funky upcycled retro pieces and romantic shabby chic antiques on offer. This arm of the company is totally in keeping with Inspirit's values of environmental and social responsibility - many of the pieces have been sourced in charity shops and much of the paint has been donated by freecyclers whose only alternative was to send the tins to landfill.

Carla knows great design when she sees it. All of the furniture selected for restoration has superb form, function and quality. Beautiful pieces hidden under years of varnish and/or paint have been lovingly stripped down and re-finished so they are relevant for today's homes. Inspirit can source furniture for clients and can also re-furbish clients' own pieces.
