AMY BLACKBURN

Amy graduated from Newcastle University with a degree in English Literature in July 2003, then returned home to Burnley, Lancashire to forge a career as a local hack. She masquerades as a barmaid in her local pub and is planning a return to university next year to gain her Masters qualification in journalism.

In her spare time she is most likely to be found hidden in a book listening to old rock music. Or, trying to write poetry whilst drinking too many brews in greasy cafes, weighing up the pros and cons of an HMV store card.

How do you cope with problems?
With Jack Daniels and a sense of humour.

What is the first thing you thought when you woke up this morning?
