Sewer Works - Burton Road, West Didsbury
As you will probably be aware by now, United Utilities will be carryting out essential repair works to the sewer system on Burton Road, West Didsbury. The site of this work will be outside The Metropolitan on Burton Road and is expected to last up to last up to 14 weeks, beginning on Tuesday 3rd January.
We will be updating information re the works regularly, as well as hopefully keeping people informed with progress etc via Twitter. The "Useful Links" to the right will provide an archived bank of information as we update.
If you are a community group, charity etc there is also a COMMUNITY FUND available from United Utilities, to support the work you are doing within your community. An application form and guidance can be downloaded from the "Useful Links" to the right.
KEY DATES (please note that dates may be subject to change but we will keep you as informed as we possibly can) -
UPDATED 12th JANUARY 2012
Tuesday 3rd January 2012 - from this date, National Grid will be on site diverting their gas pipe in preparation for sewer repair works to commence
Monday 9th January 2012 - from this date, Enterprise will be on site diverting the United Utilities water pipe
Thursday 19th & Friday 20th January 2012 - United Utilites due on site, setting up fencing, site cabins and installations of banners & additional road signage
Monday 23rd January 2012 - United Utilities commence construction work

Between 3 January and 31 March 2012, Burton Road will be closed between Lapwing Lane and Nell Lane - information post January will be released when we receive it from Stagecoach. During the closure buses will be diverted as follows:
