July Events at The Albert Club, West Didsbury
Summer seems to be well and truly here, so we think that one of the best places you can chill out on these long, light evenings is the patio at The Albert Club - but then, we're a bit biased!
Sunday 4th July

Monday 5th July
Come down and hear some brilliant music at the Albert monthly Jazz Night. 8.30pm start. Members £2 entry, visitors £3 entry
Friday July 9th
This is top barperson Ryan's 21st birthday! He will be partying at the club from 8.00pm onwards so will be delighted to see as many members as possible. There will, of course, also be bingo and the legendary meat draw. The 5.00pm barbecue will be cancelled that day as the barbecue person has other fish to fry but there may well be something sizzling a bit later. Come along and see!
Wednesday July 14th
Comedian and poet Matt Tiller is appearing at the club, returning this time by popular request. Anyone who saw him in Mish Mash, particularly the heroic Caroline Baines who became his on-stage assistant, will know how funny he is! This time it's "Awkward Situation" billed as a musical comedy extravaganza! 8.00pm Members £2, visitors £3.
Friday 16th July
The return of the early doors barbecue and 9.30pm bingo with Bernard, our remarkable new caller. Meat draw and tote double.
Sunday 18th July
The usual Albert Club Sunday quiz is postponed to Sunday 25th July - apologies if this clashes with any of your other arrangments
Monday 19th July
The second Didsbury Scibar (http://www.scibar.info/) from 6.30pm with science writer, Hywel Curtis, who will be explaining how light cells affect the colours in butterflies wings. Fascinating stuff and absolutely free.
Saturday 24th July - The Albert Summer Party
8.30pm Prosecco and canaps on our elegant terrace. Guest cocktail maker. Frank Sinatra Tribute Act. Cool tunes from popular local djs. Free entry to members with card. Visitors and guests £4.00
Sunday 25th July
Business as usual for the Sunday marginally easier quiz with optional chilli. 8.00pm start. Members £2, visitors £3 & chilli £2.50
Monday 26th July - Quiz
The super hard one to challenge even the most mentally agile amongst us, but dont bite off more than you can chew! 8.00pm start. Members £2, visitors £3.
Consultation Evening
Those members who attended had plenty of opinions. The committee has, of course, been studying them in depth and will be using them to influence future policy. Copies of the feedback are in the club for anyone to have a look at. Blank sheets are also available for members who were unable to attend but would like to contribute.
