Palestine Under Siege - Film Event @ Zion Centre, Hulme
This event will celebrate the anniversary of Zanfha Initiative - a voluntary, non-profit, non-religious, non-political, fundraising group registered with the National Council for Voluntary Organisation[NCVO] - and a culmination of a year of fundraising for the childcare centre in Gaza.
It will be a one day event with films shown by prominent Palestinian film directors, a photography photo exhibition and crafts stalls of merchandise from Palestine, including food of the region.
Saturday 30th January 3.30pm - 10.00pm : The Zion Centre, Hulme
3.30pm - Foyer area : Stalls by Zanfha Initiative, Hadeel, Yusuf Ali and photographic exhibition and short documentary
5.00pm - Main Film Programme, with talk and book signing by Sharyn Lock and Sarah Irving, authors of 'Gaza- Beneath the Bombs'. Screenings of 'To Shoot an Elephant' by Alberto Arce and 'Sling Shot Hip Hop' by Jackie Reem Salloum. Please note - this event is not suitable for children under 12.
Ticket prices : £10 including snacks and refreshments. All proceeds from this event will go to UNRWAs [United Nations Relief & Works Agnecy] aid programme in Gaza.
